MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS - PRO AUDIO - LIGHTING - EVENT SERVICES - STAGING

Q Systems Music & Sound opened in Hobbs, NM in 1991 as a manufacturer of professional loudspeaker systems. Having designed, built, and operated the largest concert sound system in Colorado, our owner had more than a decade of experience providing sound for hundreds of fairs, festivals, and events in a five-state area.

As the demand in Hobbs grew for more than just professional loudspeaker systems, the business developed into two interrelated divisions: sales of musical instruments and performance systems, and concert and event services.  For more than 25 years we have been providing New Mexico and West Texas with high value products and services.  Over the past 40 years, our crews have provided concerts services for more than 5,000 concert artists.  We have provided millions of dollars’ worth of musical instruments and equipment to our retail customers by helping them find the right gear to meet their musical, audio, and lighting needs.  Stop by today for solutions to your music and performance needs!

Meet the Business Owner: Don W

Like many in the field, I started playing in local rock bands in the '60s. After one and a half years of USAF tech school, I was stationed inside the Cheyenne Mountain NORAD complex in Colorado Springs. Upon completion of my service, I started a pro-audio business—first out of my garage but soon moving to a 1,500-square-foot industrial park space. The business outgrew that space, and a 5,000-square-foot building was built to accommodate.  I tried to go to college and manage the business, but I found I could not do both. After 14 years, I "retired" and moved back to my hometown to attend college, earning a BS in Marketing and a BS Accounting at The University of the Southwest in Hobbs, NM, while working for a building manufacturer. My heart was elsewhere, and again I started selling pro-audio gear and installing systems in churches, schools, and clubs in southeastern New Mexico and western Texas. Twenty-five years later, I own my 9,000-square-foot building and still love this business!
